VAT is reserved when receipts arrive; goods costs are shown after eligible VAT recovery. Actual VAT settlement dates, supplier prepayment, default, refunds and intra-month timing are not modelled. Ring-fence future delivery costs even when cash is collected upfront.
How this model works
Contribution = revenue excluding VAT − delivery − payment fees − acquisition − allocated overhead. It is not accounting net profit. Fees apply to customer receipts including VAT. Supplier costs include their entered supplier VAT; only eligible goods are reduced when recovery is enabled.
Lifetime gross profit follows the Lifetime Value playbook’s distinction between revenue and gross profit. Pricing and Fast Cash informed margin protection and upfront collection; Retention informed explicit renewal assumptions. The tool applies its own transparent financial model rather than reproducing a book’s proprietary calculator.
